The MMA manages the water supply and billing for its tenants on the Buyers’ Walk and Warehouses 5,6 & 7. Usage is recorded via an individual tenancy meter linked to the business management system. The MMA will issue a monthly or quarterly invoice for usage, as well as a nominal service and supply charge.
The Melbourne Market boasts an embedded electricity network that enables tenants to access competitive electricity rates via economies of scale from using a single supplier, WinConnect. Connection the embedded network is optional, and tenants may choose to appoint their own supplier. For more information about the embedded network, please contact WinConnect. Access to running water and hoses for middle stands is available to all National Flower Centre stand holders at no additional cost. Fruit and vegetable stands on the Trading Floor do not have access to water supply.
Power is available to all stand holders in the Melbourne Market and National Flower Centre. Each reel has at least a capacity of 10 Amps (2400w). License holders who apply for power will be charged a capital cost per reel installation, which can be paid in quarterly instalments, plus an ongoing operating cost per quarter.
