Parking

The Melbourne Market is a purpose - built facility with a variety of parking options for trucks, vans and passenger vehicles to facilitate the efficient movement of fresh produce. A permit is required to park within the market gates, or casual parking is available in the P1 Administration car park on Produce Drive.

Parking Options

A permit is required to park within the gates of the Melbourne Market and National Flower Centre. Alternatively, daily casual parking is available in the P1 Administration car park to enter the market on foot. See Fees & Payment for rates. An overview map is available here. Access Card holders can apply for a permit and allocated bay by submitting a completed Parking Bay Application Form to Customer Service

Parking permits are transferrable between vehicles registered under the same account; however, vehicles are not permitted to share parking bays – regardless of size

Parking bays are not to be used for the storage of vehicles or any other item. Please contact Customer Service for more information on 24 - hour parking or storage.

To cancel a parking bay, submit a Parking Bay Disposal form to Customer Service. You are liable for parking fees up to the date your form is received by the MMA

Flower hand trollies are not to be taken beyond the market gates to the P1 car park. Speak to Customer Service about parking closer to the National Flower Centre.

Permit Types

Parking is rotated through phases to maximise efficiency. Use of your parking bay is only permitted within the allotted time according to your parking permit and business type:

Regional Buyer: 2:00am – 7:00am

Buyer: 3:30am – 7:00am

Seller: 10:00pm - 3:15am (Pre - trade) & 7:30am - 10:00am (Post - trade)*

Passenger bays: defined according to your business category

24 - hour Truck Parking: allocated 24/7

Sellers with open light commercial vehicle, truck or NFC bays are allocated the bay from 10:00pm – 10:00am

Loading Zones

Reserved parking for fruit and vegetable buyers with a truck or light commercial vehicle includes an allocated loading zone at the side or rear. Side loading zones are shared equally by the parking bay on either side, and their use must comply with OHS guidelines.
