Statement from the Melbourne Market Authority - 26 May 2026
The Melbourne Market Authority (MMA) would like to announce that Chief Executive Officer Rob Clayton has tendered his resignation, with his final day in the role to be 5 June 2026.
The Board thanks Rob for his strong contribution during his tenure. In a relatively short period, Rob led a number of positive initiatives and continued to strengthen engagement across the organisation and market community.
The Board has resolved to appoint current MMA Director, Keith Louie, as Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis from 1 June 2026, while a recruitment process is undertaken for a permanent CEO.
Mr Louie brings substantial executive leadership experience and is well placed to provide continuity and strong operational leadership during the transition period.
The Board remains confident in the strength and direction of the organisation, with all strategic priorities, operational responsibilities and government obligations continuing as planned.
Operations at the Melbourne Market continue as normal, and the Board remains focused on delivering for traders, wholesalers, growers, customers and stakeholders.
